Happy April everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely Easter and managed to find some time to relax and rejuvenate over the break. I’m sure it’s just not me, but it really does feel as though this year is busier than any before. Perhaps this has something to do with the current economic conditions? We’re doing more with less; working harder and longer, which is something we covered in depth at last week’s communicating during uncertain times breakfast.

First up this month, it's my great pleasure to congratulate IABC Victoria's Vice President, Monika Lancucki on her recent Gold Quill Award. Monika won one of only 24 Excellence awards out of over 700 entries – an excellent achievement in anyones book!

Also, I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Amanda Riley our new communications chair. It’s an absolute delight to have Amanda on board and we look forward to her enthusiasm and not only what she can bring to the board, but the communications portfolio.

Last month we held our half-year strategy day where the board reviewed our progress against the goals and objectives set in August. While it’s fair to say we have made significant headway, there’s still plenty more for us to focus on for the remainder of our term. We’ll be looking more closely at local member benefits, some of which include holding free member only events (Be Together) the first of which will be held next Monday 23rd at The Honey Bar in South Melbourne.

We’re also very excited about our upcoming Cocktail Evening, which is to be held at the beautiful Vue de monde at the Rialto. We’re lucky enough to have IABC Global Chair, Adrian Cropley and international guest speaker Christopher Swan joining us. we’ll also be recognising this year’s Bronze Quill winner and recently accredited members. Member tickets are heavily discounted so it’s a fantastic opportunity to come and experience excellence in all manner of the word! You might’ve already heard that tickets are seriously limited so get in quick! I have no doubt this event will sell out.

Before I leave you, a big shout out to Nevi Laketa, who this month celebrates 5 years membership with IABC Victoria.

Take care all and till next time,
