Victorian communicators are flying high after winning three of the eight special awards at the prestigious International Association of Business Communicators’ Gold Quills.

Recently, nine Victorian entries received the globally-recognised IABC Gold Quill Award for communications excellence.

Now, three of these entries have been selected for special awards from the IABC – an astonishing result given there are only eight on offer worldwide.

“Each year, the IABC judging panel hand-picks a small number of Gold Quill winners for special recognition,” said IABC Victoria Chair, Zora Artis.  “And, this year, Victorian communicators have scooped the pool – winning three of the eight special awards.”

“This is without doubt the highest recognition Victorian communicators have ever received.”

The Victorian special award winners are:

Rebecca McIntyre from Cabrini Health has won a Best of the Best Award for her entry Together We Can Meet the Standards: Accreditation at Cabrini.

Sandra Hilmer, Matt Trewin, Lucinda Tippett, Caroline Souvannavong, and Geoff Taylor from Telstra have won a Best of the Best Award for Connecting with Words.

And Ayllie White, Sarah Altmann, Sally Pickering, Kerilyn Wyatt, and Suzanne Waddell from Transurban and VicRoads won the Business Issues Award for Avoiding ‘Carmageddon’: Major Road Works in Melbourne.

Join the winners at the IABC Cocktail Gala

The special awards will be presented at the Excellence Gala, part of the annual IABC World Conference in Toronto, Canada on Monday, 9 June.
