IABC Victoria Power Hour
In this exclusive session brought to you by IABC Victoria, globally renowned communicator Catherine Fisette, MA, ABC, will share a sneak peek into her latest research on biases, how to harness and mitigate their impact and shift to a more responsible approach to storytelling.
Daily, we make 35,000 decisions. To prevail, we rely on mental shortcuts. Imagine this: When asked for your opinion, you sum up recent facts you’ve read about, gather intel from sources you trust and grow confident when you see a salvo of similar comments. Sound familiar? Welcome to cognitive bias galore. We hear a lot about cognitive biases but their potency in the communication field remains unheeded.
In this session, learn how to:
Identify the impact of cognitive biases on communication activities
Adjust your approach based on audience perceptions and needs
Enhance your strategies, programs and tactics by harnessing biases that support your desired outcomes
Optimise your performance by leveraging models that support consistency, self-awareness and growth in our field
